Description

Mavrodaphne of Patras is a PDO naturally sweet fortified wine from the Achaia region in Northern Peloponnese, Greece. First produced around 1850 by German-born Gustav Clauss at the Achaia Clauss winery (Greece's oldest), it is made from the indigenous Mavrodaphne grape and aged using the solera method, creating a dark, opaque wine with dense aromas of dried prunes and currants.
