Description

Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge is an orange-flavored liqueur created in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle, blending fine Cognac brandy (51% of the blend) with distilled essence of bitter orange and sugar at 40% alcohol. Named by Swiss hotelier César Ritz to convey grandeur and noble status, it became a favorite of European royalty including Edward VII and the Russian Court. The recipe has remained unchanged since 1880 and the liqueur is commonly enjoyed neat as a digestif or used in cocktails and culinary preparations like crêpes Suzette.
